Proposals that don’t suck

Valentines is ALMOST here.

That can only mean ONE thing.

Proposals.

A LOT of them.

Needing some ideas that don’t include the standard, dinner at a restaurant? Let’s goooooo!

A picnic.

With a picnic, you know what your partner already likes. You can customize the meal exactly to what they love and control the time right down to the second of when to pop the question. Why not go all out by hiring a local picnic company planner to set up a beautiful display at your favorite park or beach?

Add special touches like fresh flowers or their favorite dessert. Who doesn’t love a chocolate covered strawberry? Consider the weather when planning your picnic. Is it going to be warm? Make sure to grab an umbrella to cover you from the sun and sunblock to prevent the burn. Chilly? Grab a blanket for you both to snuggle under the stars after they’ve said yes 🙂

Backyard Airbnb

This was a BEAUTIFUL engagement planned to the T. It included a private chef, a surprise visit from a best friend from out of town, flowers and a huge sign.

Airbnbs on http://airbnb.com are everywhere. Why not book yours overlooking the sunset in Los Angeles? Support local and book your vendors by easily doing a quick search of the area. Check out chef Cassidy who hooked this couple up with a beautiful meal they wouldn’t soon forget.

Socal=the beach. It’s what you think when you think here. What better way to surprise your person than with a surprise meet up at the beach? Leave the shorts and flip flops at home….make it special and suit up. She or he will thank you for it…and the photos are gonna look phenomenal.

Why not get a best friend in on the surprise? Get your girl’s best pal to drive her around for the day only to have it end at the beach with you waiting there for her? Trust me…it’s worth it.

Sweet treats and a local streets.

You know what most people love in the world? Dessert.

Well…maybe that’s just me.

My husband proposed to me with “Will you Marry Me?” on a cake. All I am saying is it’s now been almost 17 years.

Hit the streets, grab a cannoli and pop the question. Dessert will ALWAYS get a yes.

(And if you can totally steal Neil’s idea and have them write “will you marry me?” on your cake. )

Boutique Hotel

Why not spend a few bucks and get a cute little room in beautiful, Palm Springs? You’ll feel like you’re away but not too far away. The city of Palm Springs is also an incredibly friendly LGBTQ town for those in the community. I stayed at a boutique hotel for my 40th and had blast with 2 of my best friends. I couldn’t help but feel it would be an incredibly romantic stay for someone who was ready to take the next the next step with their significant other.

Palm Springs has a very cool, retro 60’s vibe with a lot of beautiful architecture. Now that you’ve decided to spend the rest of your life together, why not celebrate with brunch at a local drag show and go antiquing for your place :)?
