Regular engagement sessions are for the birds.
Don’t you know the new hype is at home sessions around a counter top while your toddler tosses flour and giggles with you?
Well…now you do.
I met Kellyn when she was a very pregnant bridesmaid in Emmy and Alinah’s wedding. She told me that she and her fiance were definitely going to be getting married soon and that she was hoping for an intimate wedding. That was enough for me to swing in and tell her how those words were magic to my ears.
As we moved forward and started to plan her special day, I inquired about what kind of engagement session she and Matt wanted. The restaurant where they first met? Maybe. How about a field? Fields are overrated. What do you think about a family shoot at my house? Intriguing.
Kellyn and Matt just celebrated the birth of their second daughter and instead of a traditional setting, she thought it might be nice to share a lifestyle session in her house. I suggested making cookies around their kitchen and that was that.
Cookies weren’t made but the time was just as sweet. Between the giggling and giant smiles, there were so many wonderful memories that are now frozen to share on their walls.
